St. Ruggling's Day

Self- Affliction: 13 kids ranging from ages 2 to 14, armed with tennis balls saturated with paint equals a Happy St. Ruggling's Day to me!

My Parade: Taking all 4 kids into Hannaford on a Friday evening. There were so many people there tonight that they had traffic guards outside. The climax of my parade was finding myself arguing with Obie in the meat department. He climbed out of the car part of the grocery cart and insisted on sitting on the roof. When I made it clear that this was unacceptable behavior . . . the fireworks began. Did I mention that Hannaford was exceptionally busy today?

My miracle: Obie peed on my hostas twice today! Twice!

Change

I have been unemployed now for 13 years. I applied for a job back in February, struggled over my resume, and trusted God. On Wednesday, I was offered the job. I will hand my contract in today for the art teacher position at Rutland Area Christian School. It is a small job, in that it is just for two days a week, but it is a big change for our family. Obadiah will go to preschool there and I will continue to homeschool the girls in the morning and teach art in the afternoon twice a week. I hope to use my earnings to finance a trip to the West Coast.

This will be the first job that I have had that actually uses my degree.
