A Beautiful, Cold, Eventful Day

Elisabeth is participating in STARBASE Vermont this year with the 5th grade class at RACS. STARBASE Vermont is a National Guard Youth Program that works with children in Grades 4, 5, and 6. STARBASE teaches physics, goal setting, and drug/alcohol prevention. She is loving the program. Today, we went to the airport and launched rockets that the kids had made.

Random pics of the soccer game.

This is Elisabeth's group flying their hot air balloon that they made.

Blast-off!

We left for STARBASE early this morning, went back to RACs, met up with the other kids (Grace, Lucy, & Obie)and immediately headed to Ticonderoga, NY for a soccer game (we lost), had dinner at McDonald's with half the team, and arrived home with half of my children asleep. I'm exhausted.

102

That's how many quarts of apple sauce we have in the cold cellar now.
We're almost done with the canning. Beets, one more batch of hot pepper jam, and maybe another batch of apple preserves. And we're going to freeze some squash and pumpkin (I think).
I'm almost ready for it to start snowing.
