The van is packed.
The house in order.
The kids bathed and sleeping.
We leave before the rooster crows.
Until our next blog post . . . goodnight.

Calm Down, People!
This from my favorite columnist, the brilliant Mark Steyn:
As a general proposition, when told by unanimous elites that a particular course of action is urgent and necessary to avoid disaster, there's a lot to be said for going fishing*. If the entire global economy is so vulnerable that only the stalwart action of Barney Frank stands between it and ten years of soup kitchens, can it, in fact, be saved? Or look at it the other way round: Given any reasonable estimate of the number of headless chickens running around, was the five per cent fall in Asian markets and seven per cent "plummet" on the Dow in reaction to the House vote really the catastrophe some of my pals round here seem to think it was? If fear of seven per cent falls is enough to justify massive unprecedented government intrusion into the private sector, we might as well cut to the chase and go for the big Soviet command economy.
Steyn goes on to point out that in the past year the globe has cooled 0.7 degrees celsius and is now the same temperature that it was in 1930. (This has got to be the biggest unreported story ever!)
I WILL NOT BE RAILROADED!!!

Go Antonio's Pizza!
The kids are playing soccer every Saturday morning with the local school. They are divided by ages and learn skills and the basic rules of the game. There are no teams but our family decided that our team name was Antonio's Pizza. Do we have such a pizza place in the area? No. We just are Antonio's Pizza. Go Antonio's Pizza!
Elisabeth is in the fourth grade group (which is the oldest group) and is the only girl. She holds her own. Her team scrimmaged today and she was the only one who scored. She scored twice! I wish I had recorded her goals but I was in a conversation with another mother at the time. At one point, she got possession of the ball midfield and then took off down the field, with everyone chasing her, then with one powerful kick . . . GOAL!
Grace is behind Elisabeth's group. She is wearing the dark shirt with a sweatshirt tied around her waist. Grace did not have a good soccer day today . . . that is all I will say about that.
Here are my soccer players walking down to the field. Isn't VT beautiful!
Our future soccer player with his combat boots on.
Lucy looking shy.
Lucy passing the ball.
Lucy thinking about who she will pass to next. It's a hard decision to make.
