Hypothetically, how would you feel if tomorrow evidence was produced demonstrating scientifically and conclusively that the global climate is healthy, stable, and unthreatened.
Would you feel relieved?
Or would you feel disappointed?
Is it fair to suspsect that a great many people would be perversely disappointed, and that the ranks of those doing the science and making the policy are made up primarily of people in that category?
Some of us would not feel so much relieved or disappointed as vindicated.

Be careful, brother. You're talking about a religion here. The world has done away with the once culturally pervasive notion of a transcendent God who exists outside of creation, so all these people are left with is the planet-thus the preservation of the Earth and its resources are their highest aim. The earth is a deity and you are a sinner for having four kids. That won't change in their minds because it is proven that the earth is not experiencing a climate meltdown. It might just make them feel that they can buy more time to enact the changes they feel are necessary. In fact, I would not be surprised if the Earth is wearing down. Some of their observations are may be 100% on target, but instead of cauing them to turn and submit to the truth that since sin entered the world this planet has been made temporary and is even now waxing old like a garment they clamor for its preservation. The writing is on the wall, but they have horribly misinterpreted it. Isn't that what the Word says will happen. I know that you're not necessarily disputing their claims, which are certainly dubious I agree, but rather the heart and motive behind the movement. At the heart of the issue is this powerful belief in the deity Earth, which in itself is a direct product of their rejection of God, or as Dr Tacket says "They refuse to look on the face of God." Its preservation trumps all human needs and will lead to much sin, abuse and depravity.
