So, in the interest of getting it off my mind and in the spirit of Chesterton's poetry, I offer you a comprehensive list of all the plants I have started in the garden so far, counting a few seeds which have not come up yet.
Asparagus, rhubarb, and strawberries: the perennial anchors.
Broccoli: De Cicco; Calabrese; and Purple Peacock.
Cauliflower: Early Snowball and Little Cloud.
Cabbage and Brussels Sprouts.
Collards (for Job)
Parsley, flat, curly and root.
Lettuce, two red leafed and a riotous mix.
Last year's chard, come back for more.
Egyptian Walking Onions and Good King Henry, for their names if nothing else.
Beets, Lutz Winter Keeper.
Aurora Orach
Fenugreek, Strawberry Spinach, and Golbelger Purslane because, hey, why not?
Mustard, Tat Soi, Arugula, Broccoli Raab.
Cilantro, Pak Choi, Parsnips, Chervil.
Dill and Onions
Peas, snap and snow.
Radish: Round Black Spanish; Rose Heart Daikon; and German Beer Garden.
Turnips and Rutabaga.
And, because no list should ever have to end with "rutabaga,"
Lovage.
